- Before pricking your fingertip, little prior warm up your hand to improve blood circulation
- Remove the lancing device cover by rotating it anti-clockwise
- Insert a new sterile, tri bevelled, and ultra-thin lancet into the lancet holder and push down firmly until it is fully seated, then twist and pull off its safety cap and save the cap for later use
- Put back the lancing device cover and rotate it clockwise securely, it comes with an adjustable cap and arrow indicator
- Rotate the adjustable cap and set the depth settings from 1 to 5 levels as per requirement, make sure the arrow indicator is on your selected number
- Then hold the lancing device and slowly pull the sliding barrel back
- A click is heard, and a side button pops up indicating that the lancing device is ready and set to use
- Select the fingertip you want to prick and sanitize it with a 70% alcohol prep pad (gamma sterilized wipes used to sanitize skin before injection, finger prick, or first-aid to decrease germs in minor cuts, scrapes, and burns.)
- Place the blood lancet pen against the sanitized fingertip you want to prick, try to prick slightly off-centre of the fingertip and not the bullseye
- Press the side activation button, once the action has been performed side button pops in
- Take a drop of blood for testing and monitoring and wipe out the excess blood with a freshly open 70% alcohol prep pad (do not reuse the old one)
- Once again, take off the lancing device cover and remove the lancet holding its body, then firmly insert the exposed tip of the lancet into the horizontal direction of the safety cap so that the tip will be inserted easily
- Throw the lancet in the trash and not in your recycling bin and clean your hands
- Sanitize the lancing device cover and body with alcohol wipes for the next time use
